We often encounter the problem of measuring the weight of small mass objects, especially in our daily life. I still remember that although the traditional steelyard can solve such a problem, it is inconvenient to carry, and the efficiency is not high, the display is not intuitive and the measurement accuracy is low; Mechanical spring balance can also solve this problem, but it has large inertia, low natural frequency, low sensitivity and low measurement accuracy.

With the progress and update of microcomputer technology, integrated circuit technology and sensor technology, electronic scale has achieved rapid development, which is characterized by complete functions, intuitive display, high accuracy, sensitive response and convenient use. In order to solve the weighing problem of small mass objects, if there is an electronic scale with small size, light weight, portability and digital display, it will be widely welcomed by everyone. Now this electronic scale has been widely used in the market, so let's talk about the design of this digital pocket scale with a weighing range of 0〜5kg.

The structure principle of pocket electronic scale is from sensor → amplifier →A/D converter →CPU→ display. The main task of designing pocket electronic scale is the selection of load cell for weighing. There are many kinds of sensors that can measure force. To realize weighing and digital display, the key is to convert the force (gravity) signal into electrical signal to measure. The methods are mainly divided into two categories:

One is the direct method, which uses piezomagnetic sensors, piezoelectric sensors and piezoresistive sensors to directly convert signals into electrical signals.

The other is indirect method, which uses elastic elements as sensors to transform tension and pressure into strain, displacement or frequency, and then uses strain sensors, displacement sensors or frequency sensors to transform strain, displacement or frequency into electricity. Comprehensive comparison of various sensors, the indirect strain force sensor is selected here.
