The mechanical scale is a measuring instrument combined with the principle of a mechanical lever, which belongs to the compulsory verification measuring instrument. There are many types of mechanical scales, such as case scales, mechanical bathroom scales, etc. However, due to frequent failures in use, its sensitivity and accuracy are affected. There are many factors that affect the mechanical scale, including system problems of the mechanical scale itself, environmental problems, human operation, and use.

The following are some human factors that affect the accuracy of mechanical scales and troubleshooting methods.

  1. During the installation of the mechanical scale, each bearing seat is easily not on the same level, which requires that each bearing seat is on the same horizontal plane as much as possible during installation, and the horizontal error should not exceed 3mm, which will be greatly reduced if the requirements are met. Errors of small mechanical scales.
  2. The scale operator is unskilled or careless in operation. During the process of metrological verification, the mistakes of the metrological verification personnel will lead to changes in the value of the scale, which cannot meet the requirements of the metrological verification regulations. For example, when the large thallium is pulled during operation, the large thallium and the ruler are not clamped as smoothly as possible, or the ruler fails to swing well and read immediately.
  3. When loading, the weight is concentrated in a certain local area, resulting in angular difference, eccentric load, and affecting the overall value. In order to avoid this phenomenon, it should be as uniform as possible during loading.
  4. During the verification, the actual value obtained has a certain error due to too many times to replace the standard weight with heavy objects or the calculation is not accurate enough during the replacement. This requires that in the measurement and verification work, the data and calculations should be read as carefully and accurately as possible to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the measurement performance of the mechanical scale.
